What on Earth is Driftwood?
Driftwood is a very special style of wood, due to the fact that this wood has been in the ocean and is eventually washed up on a beach somewhere in the world. Each piece of wood is collected from beaches by hand. As the wood can float, and usually on the waters for a long time it allows the sun the gauze its rays onto the wood which gives it a bleached look. Driftwood is a popular use for the creation of art pieces and sculptures depending on the condition of the wood itself. However it does work nicely in creating rather unique styles of furniture.
An example of Driftwood Furniture is our coffee table that is shown above.
This piece shows the organisation of the branches of wood carefully designed making it pleasing for anyone at first glance and a beautiful focal point.
Why is it so popular?
This style of wood is very unique and by nature, every piece will be different. Driftwood is a natural matenia which people love as it is eco friendly and not harming the environment as it’s originally from damaged trees. Also it allows you to inspire your home with a breath of fresh air as it sets a theme to make your home feel like a trip to the seaside.
